In January 2021, it was confirmed that the rumored collaboration was an adaptation of the novel by Don DeLillo, marking Baumbach’s first adapted screenplay. Both Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver are confirmed to be featured. Ahead of the movie’s international debut in Venice in August 2022, a trailer is released showing the drama of an apocalyptic change in a small midwestern town. Beloved composer Danny Elfman is confirmed to be scoring the movie and in September 2022, a new set of highly stylized posters offer an insight into the darkly comic tone of the movie. A new trailer is released in November 2022 featuring a new song by LCD Soundsystem.
